Do you shoot boudoir sessions?

A small secret: 9/10 of 5th Photography female clients get a boudoir session. Not for the partner, but for THEMSELVES. We all refer to them as self love sessions. Because it's about showing yourself - either because you know or want to know - that you are effing beautiful. It's you coming in looking your best, and me showing you all the angles you didn't even know you had. Trust me, you've got good angles and you're going to freak when I show you. If you're interested in boudoir, please send me a note. I have something for you. When you're done with your boudoir session you're going to be in love with you, gift giving will just be a bonus. Just watch. Oh and while you call me, start clearing off wall space for the enlargement you're going to be dying to hang in your bedroom. Mark my words.

What should I wear to my session?

Wear something that makes you feel amazing. Have you been swooning over a boho dress that rolls in the wind? A new leather motojacket that looks badass with a v-neck t-shirt? Pick the thing that you have been looking to wear for so long, but couldn't find a reason to buy it, or a place to wear it. Accessorize with pieces that you pin a thousand times on Pinterest and look at often. Things that move, big or cool hats, statement boots or leather shoes with hand-hammered soles - are the way to get some aesthetic soul into your images. Check out my boho board on Pinterest for wardrobe ideas.

How long are engagement & boudoir sessions?

A session lasts 60-80 minutes. If you'd like an extended session, let me know. Likewise, if you want to go off the beaten path please don't hesitate to say so. Those sessions can be incredible!

How do we book you as our photographer?

You and I will will always start with a consultation before a booking - in person, on the phone, or via video - to enjoy some laughs and so that I can answer your questions. A digital contract is prepared and sent to you via email for signing and initial payment. To hold your wedding date, a 30% non-refundable deposit is made electronically. The remaining balance is due 30 days before your wedding date.

Stand-alone engagement and boudoir sessions are booked in the same manner.

What do we do to get ready for our first photoshoot?

Nothing! Show up looking good. Leave the rest to me. But don't worry, I have some fun surprises for you. Look out for them in snail and e-mail.

What is the photoshoot like?

There are no typical poses when you shoot with me. Here and there, there will be a photo of both of you looking at the camera, but for 98% of the time the shoot is to capture the love between you two. I may ask you to whisper things you don't want anyone else to hear into each others' ears; to play tag really quick and catch each other with a big bear hug; to plant a wet kiss on an ear lobe; or to grab hands and run. Sometimes direction will be subtle and romantic, sometimes a little cray-cray, it all depends on your vibe and height of the high heels your wearing. But no matter what, you'll never be left without direction and time to love on each other in front of my camera. At the beginning you'll have worries about being on camera, not knowing how to smile perfectly each time, and think you should have figured out your better side. But by the end of the shoot you'll realize none of this matters, that time flew by, and that you just had a pop-up date and didn't even know it was coming. You'll have fun. Just watch.
